I barely remember this dude - he was all the rage back in 2006 when I still considered myself a christian and went to some dumb conference in Minnesota. I even heard him speak at the conference. He was one of the headliners on the last day. Wasn't impressed. I think he cussed once but it felt pretty forced like he knew people were expecting him to cuss so he kinda cussed just to maintain his rep which really fits into the performance acting theory you've got.
