Reading your article I’m reminded of what the philosopher Alan Watts stated:

“If you knew how to improve yourself you would be improved.”

His point being that if we let go of needing to always improve (which is counter to the entire ideology of western civilization) then we let ourselves rest and breathe and observe and become who we are.
